How to List Your Business Free on LocalePak – Full Step-by-Step Guide for 2026

LocalePak Editorial Team August 1, 2026 7 min read

Listing your business on LocalePak costs nothing, and the process is built to be finished in one sitting: create a free owner account, sign in, and work through the eight-step Add Business wizard. Every new listing is reviewed by a person before it goes public — that review is what keeps fake, duplicate and keyword-stuffed listings out of the directory. This guide follows the real flow in order, explains what to prepare, what “pending” actually means, and how claiming an existing directory listing and the optional Featured and Verified upgrades work.

Before you start: what to have ready

The wizard is quick when the facts are in front of you and slow when you have to hunt for them. Gather the essentials first: the exact business name as customers know it, the email and phone number the business actually answers, your main category, your city and complete address, your opening hours, and a short honest description of what you do.

If you have them, also prepare your services list, main products (prices are optional), your website and social page links, your Google Maps location link, and a clear logo or shop photo. The companion checklist below walks through each item in more depth, including how to choose categories without guessing.

  • • Real business name — not a name padded with keywords or city names that are not part of the brand.
  • • A working business phone or WhatsApp number customers can actually reach.
  • • Complete address and area/locality, written the way a customer would navigate to it.
  • • Opening hours, including weekly off-days, exactly as you keep them.

Step 1: Create your free owner account

Open the registration page and fill in three things: your name as the owner, your email address, and your phone or WhatsApp number — the form checks that the number is a valid Pakistani mobile. Choose a password of at least eight characters with a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, a number and a special character; the form shows the requirements as you type.

Registration creates the account signed out, on purpose: you then sign in separately with the same email and password. Tying every listing to an owner account is what stops strangers from editing your business later — only the signed-in owner can change them from the dashboard.

Step 2: Open Add Business from your dashboard

After signing in, your dashboard gives you three clear actions — Add Business, Add Company and Add Job — alongside your existing listings and their status. Choose Add Business for a shop, office, service or trade you want customers to find. Companies (registered firms and organisations) have their own Add Company flow, and hiring goes through Add Job instead, so a business listing stays focused on what customers need: who you are, where you are, and how to reach you.

Step 3: Work through the eight wizard steps

The wizard splits the listing into eight short steps, and a progress bar shows where you are. Step 1, Basic Info, takes the business name, business email, business phone and WhatsApp number. Step 2, Categories, asks for a main category and an optional secondary one — pick the category a customer would search for, because category plus city is how people browse the directory. Step 3, Location, takes your city, complete address, area or locality, and an optional Google Maps link.

Step 4 covers Business Hours, day by day. Steps 5 and 6 — Services and Products — are optional, but they are worth the two minutes: a services list written in the words customers use (“Home Delivery”, “AC Installation”, “24/7 Emergency Service”) is what your listing is matched against, and products can carry prices where that helps buyers. Step 7, Online Presence, takes your website, Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube links. Step 8, Description & Publish, is where you write the description and add tags — describe what you actually do, who you serve and where, in plain language. Keyword-stuffed descriptions and claims you cannot support are the most common reason a listing needs corrections at review.

  • • Main category = the trade customers search for; secondary only if it genuinely applies.
  • • Services in customer language, not internal jargon.
  • • Description: what you do, who it is for, where you operate — no invented awards, rankings or guarantees.

Step 4: Submit — what pending and approval mean

Submitting saves your listing with a “pending” status and sends it to the admin review queue; it is not public yet, and its status stays visible on your dashboard, badged Pending or Approved. Review checks that the business is real, the details are consistent, the category fits, and the listing is not a duplicate.

Once approved, the listing goes live on its own public page, appears in the businesses index, and is placed on its category and city pages where customers browse. If a listing is rejected, the reasons are recorded on it and shown in your dashboard — and an email is sent to your account address — so you can see exactly what to fix rather than guessing. Correct the issue and create the listing again with the details put right.

Already listed? Claim the listing instead of adding a new one

LocalePak also carries directory listings compiled from public information; these are clearly marked as not yet claimed, and some details may be incomplete. If you find your business among them, do not create a second listing — duplicates split your presence and confuse customers. Open the listing and use the “Is this your business? Claim this listing” panel: create your free account (or sign in), and claiming connects the listing to your account.

A claimed listing is yours to keep accurate: you can add opening hours, services, products and photos, keep contact details current, and reply to customer reviews. Claiming is free, and it takes over the existing page rather than starting a competing one.

Featured and Verified upgrades — how they honestly work

The free listing is the standard listing, and nothing in this guide requires paying anything. LocalePak also offers two optional upgrades, requested from your dashboard on each listing: a Featured Listing and a Verified Badge. To request one, choose the upgrade on the listing, pay using the payment details published on the Advertise page or shared by the team when you contact them, then upload your payment screenshot (an image file, up to 5MB) from the same dashboard panel. An admin verifies the payment proof, and the upgrade is recorded on your listing.

Two honest limits are worth stating plainly. First, Featured placement and the Verified Badge are being rolled out, so an approved upgrade is recorded on your listing now and displayed as each feature goes live — you are reserving the upgrade, not buying an instantly different page in every case. Second, an upgrade changes how your listing is presented on LocalePak itself; it is not a Google ranking and no listing — free or upgraded — can promise you one. What actually earns enquiries is a complete, accurate listing with reachable contact details.

Practical note: If anyone contacts you claiming to sell a LocalePak ranking, a review package or a guaranteed position on Google, that is not how this directory works — upgrades are only ever requested from inside your own dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Is listing on LocalePak really free? Yes — registering an account and publishing a business listing costs nothing. Featured and Verified are optional paid upgrades requested from the dashboard; the basic listing never requires them.

Why does my listing say pending after I submit it? Every new listing is reviewed for accuracy, category fit and duplication before it goes public. The status is visible on your dashboard, and approval makes the listing live on its public page and in its category and city.

My listing was rejected — what now? The rejection reasons are shown on the listing in your dashboard and sent to your account email. Fix exactly those points and create the listing again.

Can I edit my listing after it is approved? Yes — sign in with the same owner account and update it from your dashboard. Keep the account email and password safe, because that account controls the listing.

Do I need a website to list my business? No. A reachable phone or WhatsApp number is enough to be contacted; add your website and social links in the Online Presence step if you have them.

I have two branches. One listing or two? Two — but only for genuinely separate locations, each with its own address and details. Duplicate listings for the same location are removed at review.
